this
new
workshop seems little, but could be a source of joy for the interested
contrabassclarinet-player.....mouthpieces, reeds, ligatures and a wide
range of repairs and modifications can be offered here. The french
filmmaker clotilde amprimoz has made a short film of the workshop which
can be seen here video
Beside
restaurating existing instruments (almost everything can be fixed)I can
offer:
- extensions to contra C
for Leblanc "contra D"
Contrabassclarinets
- extensions (without a key)
to subcontra B - to have better
resonance down to the contra C
- shifting of the c/g hole in
the lower body (Leblanc) which
corrects the notorial low C and C#
- additinal 3rd overblowing
key (non-automatic)

- "Optimal" ligature -
handmade - to fit the mouthpiece better than
the notorious too narrow leblanc ligature and to hold the reed securely
also when taking the mouthpiece of...
- additional trill key in the
upper body (leblanc) for more
flexibility in the higher register as well as trill
combinations
between 1st and 2nd register.

- modification to
"closed
hole" (plateaux)on a Buffet Festival clarinet...for a handicapped
player
- modification of a
Buffet
students model (low eb) clarinet to a
double-register-key-automatic...wworks very well!
